Young-Joon's research focuses on developing stable gain-scheduled control strategies with application to AC&R systems.

Matthew Elliott, MS/PhD

Matt and is developing an experimental testbed for subcritical multi-evaporator AC&R systems, and is examining nonlinear Model Predictive Control strategies for these systems.

Abhishek Gupta, MS

(Feb. 2006 - present)

 

Abhi is examining finite difference models for mutli-phase heat exchangers, and developing connections to the moving boundary models better suited for control.

Aarti Ramani, MS

(Nov. 2006 - present)

 

Aarti is developing custom dynamic models under a Sponsored Research Agreement with Marvin Land Systems, and examining more effective methods of dynamic model validation.

Sachin Pingle, MS

(Aug. 2007 - present)

 

Sachin is evaluating the performance of TAMU building HVAC control loops, and developing  methods of designing robust PID controllers to achieve specified performance across a wide range of operating conditions.

Bhaskar Shenoy, MS/PhD

Bhaskar is developing custom dynamic models under a joint Honeywell/ASHRAE research project, and developing physics based model reduction methods for complex heat exchanger models.

Byron is evaluating the potential for temperature and humidity control of residential air conditioners using variable speed fan control.

Sean is working on experimental evaluation of start-up and shut-down transients for residential air-conditioners.

Zach is designing and testing an novel actuator for control of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration systems.
